LET US CORRECT OUR ISLAMIC FAITH

الطوائف المختلفة معنى مختلف الأديان

الله سبحانه تعالى ليس له اي علاقة معها

Muslims around the Globe are under fatal illusion about their Salvation on the Day of Judgment.   Followers of every sect and Group claim that they are the true followers of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) and claim that others are not on the straight path of Islam

HOW COULD THIS BE TRUE ?

It is in Quran - ‘These are those who ripped their religion and divided themselves into sects.  Allah (SWT) has nothing to do with them.  (Al-Ana’am – 159).

It is in Hadith - It is narrated on the authority of Abdullaah Ibn Amr (RU) that the Prophet (SAWS) said that the (Muslim) Ummah will divide into seventy-three groups; all of them will enter Hell except one, namely, the one that follows the way of the Prophet (SAWS), and that of his companions. (Tirmidhi).

Dividing people into sects and taking them away from the straight path of Islam is viewed very seriously by Allah (SWT).

Economic prosperity of the followers of a particular sect or their majority in certain countries / regions of the world is not a touchstone of their truthfulness.

Religion is not political opportunism with which you gain control of a Government.  Religion is bowing your head in front of Allah (SWT) and obeying the orders of His Prophets.  This is the only way that leads you to Salvation.

Every founder of the Sect claims that he and his followers are on the right path of Islam.  By making such claims and convincing their people, he may hold his flock together in this world.  But he does not realize what will happen to him and his followers on the Day of Judgment!

On the Day of Judgment when Allah (SWT) will question the people  ‘were not you warned about the danger of following your Sect’s beliefs when you were clearly told by the Prophet (SAWS) about it.  On what basis you followed the founders of these sects?

People may probably reply that,  O’our Lord, the preachers of these sects  approached and convinced us repeatedly in groups, through television, through religious speeches / Qutbas in Juma prayers in mosques, through books, newspapers,  and other media.  They offered us financial assistance, jobs and made us believe their wrong faith  by their oratory skills, from their religious pious looking dresses, long beards, misintepretations of  Quran and Ahadith and exceptional photo finish memory and religious arguments and debates.    We were innocent, we were not in a position to identify these disguised Robers of  our faith.   O’our Lord, we were innocent Muslims, we became victims of their political, organizational and financial network.  Kindly forgive us.

Allah (SWT) will say that the time to ask forgiveness is over.  The exam is over and today is the day of result.  Today, justice will be done to every one.

Today mercy will be showered only on true believers and they will be rewarded more than their expectations.

It is Quran - That day people will return to their Lord being in different ways so that they may be shown their deeds.  Then whosoever has done good of a weight of an atom shall see it.  Whosoever has done evil of a weight of an atom shall see it.  (Al-Zalzalah – 6-8).

Then Allah (SWT) may command the followers of these sects, go to Hell along with your founders/preachers/leaders.  The Angels of torment will drag all those who were following these sects and throw them into Hell fire to burn permanently.

 CURRENT SCENARIO OF MUSLIM SECTS

Generally people do not openly identify themselves with a sect or sub group and claim that they are Muslims even though they follow the beliefs of a particular sect/sub group.

Book stores selling Islamic literature are full of religious books with varied interpretation of basic Islamic beliefs. The scholars of various sects passionately argue on correctness of their sect’s believes. In this scenario it is not possible for a common man to find the right path. Whoever reads a particular translation of the Holy Quran or religious literature written by a scholar of a particular sect, starts believing in that version and loses the straight path of Islam.

A brief outline of some Muslims Sects and their beliefs of  is provided below for reference of our readers.

WAHHABIS / SALAFIS

Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) has prophesied that certain groups and Sects will rise in Muslim Ummah who will cause dissension, mischief and tribulation, particularly in the last centuries before Qiyamah. He made  particular reference to a place called Najd in Eastern Arabian Peninsula  and explained the evil characteristics of the people and groups  who will rise from there.  We are providing below these  fore warnings of  Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) in this context.

Hadith – 1

Hazrat Abu Huzaifa (RU) narrates a Hadith concerning the leaders of the mischief makers saying  ‘I swear by Allah (SWT) that Prophet (SAWS)  has not left out a single leader of Fitna from this day to the day of Qiyamah. Their followers would number 300 or more and further gave their names and that of their tribes.’ (Abu Dawood).

Hadith – 2

Bukhari (RU) has quoted this Hadith from Abdullah Ibn Umar (RU)   that Prophet (SAWS) once prayed for Syria and Yemen. It is narrated that there were some people of Najd also present in the gathering and they requested the Prophet (SAWS) to make supplication (du'a) for Najd also. Prophet (SAWS) continued saying:  ‘O! Allah, Shower Blessings on Syria and Yemen’.  The people of Najd again requested the Prophet (SAWS) to offer prayers for Najd.  The Prophet (SAWS) said:  ‘It is a place of tremor and mischief (Fitna) and the Horn of Shaitaan will rise from there.’ (Bukhari, Vol - ii, P - 1050).

The above Hadith clearly specifies following  conclusive points.

  • It is abundantly clear  that the place called Najd is not blessed from Islamic  point of view as Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) called it a place of Fitna and Evil.
  • This place is deprived of the prayers of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS).
  • Hoping of any Islamic good coming out of this place is against the Will of Allah (SWT).
  • In these circumstances, the Wahhabi/Salafi revivalist movement coming out of this place cannot be good or virtuous.   As per Prophet’s (SAWS) prophecy this movement is tribulation and  fitna in Islam.  We pray Allah (SWT) to safeguard us from this Fitna.
  • The Arabic word used in the above Hadith is  ‘Qarnush Shaitaan’, which normally means 'the horn of  Satan'.  In Misbahul Lughaat (page 663) the meaning of this word is written as  ‘One who follows the advice of Shaitaan'. Therefore, as per the Hadith, the Islamic revivalist Wahhabi movement is indeed following the advice of Satan.
  • For  the past 100 years, this tribulation (Fitna) has gradually swept the entire world.  Millions of  innocent Muslims have become victims of this movement.  Salafis and their like minded deviant sects have mislead millions of innocent Muslims with the slogans of Shirk, Kufr, Biddah, etc.
  • It is a waste of time to consult the preachers of these sects about these Ahadith and warning of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS).   If you consult the preachers of these sects, they will again misguide and confuse you with scores of arguments they have reserved in their data banks.
  • If at all you want to talk to someone about Prophet's (SAWS) warnings, refer your doubts to Allah (SWT).  Sit for 10 minutes quitely after any Salah during the day or night and seek Allah's (SWT) guidance through Prophet Mohammad's (SAWS) Waseelah.  Insha-Allah you will be guided to the straight path of Islam.
My dear brothers and sisters, be rest assured Allah's (SWT) guidance comes to everyone.  Sit quite, close your eyes and ears, leave all your inhibitions, doubts, previous experiences, etc., away and turn your attention towards Allah (SWT) and place your problems in front of Him.  He will Insha-Allah show you the right path with which you will be successful in this world and in Hereafter on the Day of Judgment.

When we look at the geographical position of Najd, it lies to the East of Madinah.   In other Ahadith, it is mentioned that Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) pointed his hand towards the East (Najd) and said, ‘there, that is the direction from where Fitna will emerge.

Hadith - 3

This Hadith is mentioned in Sahih Muslim.  Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RU) narrates that ‘ Prophet (SAWS) once emerged from the room of Ummul Momineen Hazrata Ayesha Siddiqa (RA) and pointing towards East (Najd) exclaimed, 'This is the center of Kufr from where the horn of Shaitaan will rise'.  (Sahih Muslim Vol- ii, PP- 1394).

 SPREAD OF WAHHABISM

   IN  INDIAN SUB CONTINENT

After the defeat of Ottoman empire (Turkey) in the first World war and abolition of Muslim Caliphate on March 3, 1924, Wahhabis completely overtook Arabian Peninsula and Salafism became the official religion of that country.

Once Wahhabis established their foothold in Arabia, they started spreading outside its shores.  Wahhabis in India are generally known as Ahle Hadith. The sweeping Wahhabi influence also resulted in the birth of several other groups like Tablighee Jama'at, Jama'at-e-Islami, Deo Bandis, etc.

Prominent people who contributed in the development of Wahhabism in Indian sub Continent include, Nawab Siddique Hassan (d.1890); Jamaluddin Afghani (1838-1898); Mohammad Abduh (1849-1905) an Egyptian scholar and the disciple of Jamaluddin; Rashid Riza (1865-1935) also disciple of Jamaluddin; Mohammad Barkatullah (died in moscow in 1927); Mahmoodul Hasan (1851-1920); Ubaidullah Sindhi (1872-1944), etc.

Most prominent name among the very first who started Wahhabi teachings in British India is Ismail Dahalwi who wrote a book titled 'Taqviatul Iman' in Urdu, which is basically a translation of the book titled 'Kitab at-Tauheed' written by Ibn Abdul Wahhab.

Ismail Dahalwi was a pupil of  Syed Ahmad who was born in 1786. There is a book titled 'Sawaha Ahmadi' in which details of his life are mentioned.  Sawaneh Ahmadi was written by Mohammad Jafar Taneshwari, another trusted disciple of Syed Ahmad.

Ismail Dahalwi is referred to as Ismail Shaheed by all these groups.  He was killed in Afghanistan by an angry mob who were infuriated by his provocative speeches.  Ismail Dahalwi wrote another book titled 'Sirat-e-Mustakheem'.  All these are most authentic books of these groups.

Ashraf Ali Thanvi is another prominent name of the teachers of these groups who was graduated from Darul Uloom, Deoband.  He is known as Hakeem-ul-Ummah of these groups.  He has written many book, like Bahishti Zaywar, Kamalat-e-Ashrafiya, etc.

TABLEEGHI  JAMA'AT

Mohammad Ilyas - the founder of  Tableeghi Jama'at

Mohammad Ilyas was one of the  very well known teachers of Wahhabi groups.  He is the  founder of Tableeghi Jama'at.  If you ask any follower of Tableeghi Jama'at as to who taught them this peculiar way of tableegh (Propagation), he will say that this was the practice of the companions of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS).

Let us see what their founding father  says in this context.  He has written that  " The Practice I have taught to the people for Tableegh was disclosed to me in my dream " (Makaatib-e-Ilyas).

In the same book he has written that  " If Allah (SWT) does not want to take a work from anyone, then even if Prophets try, they cannot move a pebble.  And if He (Allah -SWT) wants to take that work, He will take it from people like me, which was not possible to be accomplished by Prophets " (Makatib-e-Ilyas).

In another book he has written that " Asharaf Ali Thanvi has done a great job.  My heart longs that the new teachings should be his (Ashraf Ali's), and the way to propagate it should be mine, this way his new teachings will become well known among masses " .   (Malfoozat-e-Ilyas).

The followers of Tableeghi Jama'at claim that they are the group, referred to in this Quranic verse -  " Let there be a band of people among you who shall call men to goodness, and enjoin what is recognized on all hands to be good and forbid what is considered to be evil;  and these are they who will progress"  (Aal-e-Imran - 104).

Let us see what their founding father says about it.  In his book titled ' Deeni Dawah (page 234) '  he writes -  " No one understood my aim.  People think that this Tableeghi Jama'at is a movement for 'namaz'  (Salah).  I swear that this is not the movement for 'Namaz'  (Salah).  I want to create a new nation (read new Ummah) ".

Did he  succeed in creating his new nation?

To know the answer to this question look at this statement which is mentioned in Tableeghi Jama'at's most authentic book, titled 'Malfoozat-e-Ilyas'.  " Once Maulvi Ilyas said that the exegeses (Tafseer) of the verse of Quran  "Kuntum Khair Ummatin Ukhrijat linnasi  ta'amuruna bil  ma'aroofi  wa  tanhauna  anil munkar"  (Aale Imran 104)  was disclosed to him in dream, saying that "You have come to your people like a Prophet".  (La haula wala quwwata Illah Billah).

The followers of Tablighi Jama'at claim that they are not Wahhabis/ Salafis.  Let us see what their founding fathers and well known Ulema say in this context.

  • The leader of the Tableeghi Jamaat, Rashid Ahmad Gangohi states: “The followers of Mohammad Ibne Abdul Wahab are called Wahabis, their beliefs were  excellent".
Fatawa Rashidiya – Vol. 1- Page 111

  • Clarifying and reiterating his and the beliefs of the Deobandis, Manzoor Nomani, one of the prominent scholars of  Tableeghi Jamaat states: “And we also state here clearly that we are extreme Wahabis”

Sawaneh Maulana Mohammad Yusuf Kandhalvi – Page 192

  • In the words of one of the Patron of Tableeghi Jamaat, Mohammad Zakaria Khandhalvi: “Maulvi Sahib, I myself am a greater Wahabi than you.”

Sawaneh Maulana Mohammad Yusuf – Page 192

  • In the words of one of the co-founders of Tabhlighee Jama'at - Ashraf Ali Thanwi: “Brother, here Wahabis reside, do not bring anything for  Fathea, Niaz, etc. here.”

Ashraf Sawaneh Book 1 – Page 45

AHLE  HADITH

Wahhabis in Indian sub continent are known as Ahle Hadith (ahl-e-hadīs or ahl-i hadith).  This sect is  found predominately in the Middle East and South Asia. The term Ahl-e Hadith is often used interchangeably with the Salafism. They en masse reject all 4 Imams of Islamic Fiqh and allege other Muslims to involve in shirk and biddah.

Ahle Hadith claim that they respect all the great jurists, Imams and the scholars and do not out-rightly reject the rulings of any of the four principal jurists of Ahle Sunnah.  However they believe in following their rulings only if they are in accordance with Quran and Sahih Hadith.  Meaning, they will judge the great Jurists first, if they are right or wrong in their rulings on issues of Islamic Jurisprudence.

DEO BANDIS

Qasim Nanotvi (1832-1887) is an important scholar of Wahhabi sub groups in Indian Sub Continent. He established Darul Uloom Deoband, in Utter Pradesh, India in 1867.

He was a close associate of Rashid Ahmad Gangohi, the teacher of Mohammad Ilyas, the founder of Tableeghi Jama'at.  Thousands of young Muslims are taught Wahhabi beliefs at this School which is considered to be the biggest of its kind in Indian Sub Continent.  Prominent names who studied at this school and contributed to these new sects in India include, Mahmoodul Hasan, Ashraf Ali Thanvi, Hussain Ahmad Madani, Shabbir Ahmad Osmani, Hakeem Ajmal Khan, Ubaidullah Sindhi, Sanaullah Amnrohi, Ihtishamul Haq, Abdul Razzaq Afghani, etc.

All the Deobandi prominent scholars (Akabir)  like   Rashid Gangohi, Qasim Nanotwi, Ya’qub Nanotwi, Ashraf ‘Ali Thanwi, Mahmood al-Hasan, Husayn Ahmad Tandvee  made Bayyah (allegiance) to Imdadullah Muhajir Makki.

Imdadullah Muhajir Makki, the super grand shaikh of deobandis  writes in his book “ Haft Masla”  as follows:

(Quote)  'Calling Upon Someone (dead) other than Allah'  .... Therefore, calling someone (who is dead) from a distance, either for remembrance, desirous of union or anxiety of separation, just like a lover calls his beloved, to give consolation to his heart, is not a sin.  The other sort of calling is where the caller wishes that the called one actually hears the call.  In this case, if the caller, through the cleanliness of his heart is seeing,  the person called,  spiritually, such a call is permitted.  If however, the caller does not see the called one but believes that the called one will receive his message through some means supported by evidence, even then the call is permitted…. From this we get the permission of the Wazifa :" Ya Sheikh Sayed Abdul Qadir Sheun Lillah". If anyone considers that the Shaikh can help with the power he possesses of his own, it will be tending towards Shirk. But if the Sheikh is considered as "Wasila" (means) or these words are uttered with an empty mind considering them to carry "Barakats" (blessings), then there is nothing wrong with them.  (Unquote)

According to Deobandis, their faith consist of five main principles; (i) Tawhid: Abrahamic Monotheism (of God); no one shares His attributes, (ii) Sunna: Following the methodology of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS), (iii)  Ḥubbus-Sahaba: Following the methodology of companions of Muhammad, (iv) Taqlid wal-Ittibā: Giving preference to the jurisprudence of one of the earliest jurists of Islam over that of later jurists, (v) Jihād fī Sabīlil-Lāh: Doing Jihād (Striving for the good, in the name of God).

It looks the above principles are only to lure innocent people to their fold. Their actual beliefs can be known from the most authentic books that are taught to their followers.

Once I discussed with a Deo Bandi as to what they mean by Abrahamic Monotheism, instead of the Monotheism taught to us by Prophet Mohammad (SAWS).  I was shocked to hear his arguments.  He told me that Islam was brought to us by Prophet Abraham (AS) and  not by Prophet Mohammad (SAWS).  He started giving me references from Quran and Ahadith which clearly showed all the attempts on their part is to reduce the respect of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS).   Look at the following Qurani verses and Ahadith which show the importance of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS).

  • It is in Quran -  “From Allah (SWT) has come to you a Light and a Book manifest.” (5:15)
  • It is in Quran -  ‘And look, He is Who have created you (and all the creations) from single soul (Nafsiun Wahida)’. (Al-Ana’am – 98).
  • It is in Hadith - Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (RU). When Allah's (SWT) Messenger was asked since how long he is the Prophet of Allah (SWT), he replied, ‘When Adam (AS) had not yet had his spirit joined to his body. (Tirmidhi).
  • It is in Quran – ‘Behold! Allah (SWT) took the covenant (promise) of (all) the prophets, saying: "I give you a Book and Wisdom; then comes to you an Apostle (Mohammad – SAWS), confirming what is with you; do you believe in him and render him help." Allah (SWT) said: "Do you agree, and take this my Covenant as binding on you?" They said: "We agree." He said: "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.’ (Aal-e-Imran – 81).
When was the covenant (promise) taken from all prophets? When souls of all Prophets were created, and before them, the supreme soul of Prophet Mohammad (SAWS), the root of all creations was also created. Allah (SWT) gathered all souls of Prophets and took the covenant from them that they will believe in Prophet Mohammad’s (SAWS) superiority as Abdullah in the cosmos. When they agreed, Allah (SWT) says, He is also a witness of that gathering and covenant along with all the Prophets. This is known as ‘timeless antiquity’.

JAM'IYATUL  ULAME-E-HIND

Jam’iyatul Ulama-e Hind is an organization of Deobandi  scholars of India, established in November 1919, when numerous ulama from all parts of India participated in the Khilafat Movement conference in New Delhi. Many of the members were associated with the Darul Ulum of Deoband. The organization came into being when Indians of all religious affiliations were united in the anti-British struggle. When most Muslim leaders participated in the non-cooperation movement with the Indian National Congress, Jam’iyatul Ulama-e Hind, in contrary, maintained its pro-congress attitude through out the struggle for independence and supported the idea of a united India and opposed the Pakistan movement.

The main contribution of the Jam’iyatul Ulama-e Hind to Indo-Muslim thought is the theory of “composite nationalism” to counter the “two nations theory” of the Muslim League, which formed the ideological basis of the Pakistan movement.  The Jam’iyatul Ulama-e Hind thus accepted the idea of territorial nationalism.  In order to expel the British from India and to achieve independence, there was the demand that Muslims cooperate with the Indian National Congress. The Deobandi scholars envisaged that in an independent and united India achieved with their cooperation, and their close association with the future Government would be ideal to spread Salafi beliefs into India.  This way they will also gain the leadership of Muslim community in India.   On this basis, they appealed to Muslim not to join the Muslim League.

In independent India, the Jam’iyatul Ulama-e Hind acquired increased importance in the new political structure. Shortly after independence, the Ulama called upon Indian Muslims to unite under their Umbrella and embrace Salafism. Several Salafi ideas adopted by these Deobandi Ulama after partition were quite rebellious from traditional Islam. They were branded as traitors who sold Muslim's interest to gain political clout in Indian politics.  They supported Indian policies even on issues that were sensitive from the Muslim point of view.

JAMA'AT-E-ISLAMI

Jama'at Islami  is a political outfit in the guise of religious revivalist movement.  It  was founded in Lahore on 26th August 1941 by  Sayyid Abu al-A’la Mawdudi (d. 1979), a journalist and  political activist.  Mawdudi was joined by people like Sayyid Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi and Mohammad Manzur Nu’mani of Deoband.   Soon after its creation, the party established its headquarters in Pathankut in East Punjab, led by Mawdudi as its first president.  Between 1941 and 1947, the Jamaat spread its messages across India through its widely distributed literature, rallies, conventions, and public sessions.

The Jamaat followed the teachings of Mawdudi, which are primarily based on Salafism / Wahhabism.

Since the 1960s Jama'at-e-Islami has also developed a women’s wing as well as semi autonomous organizations such as publication houses and unions, especially a student union, Islami Jam’iyat Tulaba.

Following the partition of India, the Jamaat divided into three separate units for India, Jammu and Kashmir, and Pakistan. Mawdudi, along with the bulk of the original party leaders and members, left India for Pakistan and established the headquarters of Jamaat Islami of Pakistan in Lahore, and soon became fully immersed in Pakistani politics. Mawdudi and the Jamaat quickly approached the Ulama and other self-style religious movements in pressing the newly formed state for a Salafi constitution in the name of Islam.  The Jamaat’s activism   culminated in an open confrontation with the elected Governments of Pakistan.

In 1951 the Jamaat became directly active in politics by taking part in the Punjab election. The anti-Ahmadiyah agitation in Punjab enhanced the party’s political standing.   In 1957 the Jamaat declared that it would participate in the national elections of 1958 as a full-fledged party. But during Ayub Khan’s rule, the Jamaat’s offices were closed down, its activities were restricted and Mawdudi himself was imprisoned.  Later, the Jamaat became more focussed for the removal of Ayub Khan and the restoration of a political climate that would be conducive to religio-political activism. Therefore, the Jamaat joined the alliance of political parties that advocated restoration of democracy and an end of Ayub Khan’s rule.

During Bangladesh conflict with India, the Jamaat spearheaded a political movement that vigorously appealed to religious sentiment to weaken the Bhutto regime. It was the Jamaat  that undermined the Bhutto government and in 1977 provoked a military coup d’etat.

In Zia ul-Haq period, Jamaat leaders occupied important government offices, including cabinet posts, and the party’s Salafi / Wahhabi views were reflected in Pakistani government's  programs.

By the end of the Zia period it was apparent that the Jamaat had become a powerful political force with significant social and cultural influence, in view of its organizational structure and ability to manipulate the Salafi factor in Pakistan’s political balance.

Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) is the students' wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, India. It was formed in 1982 to spread the teachings of Maududi among Muslim youth and students of India.

TANZEEM-E-ISLAMI, PAKISTAN

The founder of this Tanzeen, is Dr. Israr Ahmad ( اسرار احمد (April 26, 1932 – April 14, 2010) was a Pakistani national, who considered himself a product of the teachings of Abul Ala Maududi,  Founder of Jama'at-e-Islami, Pakistan. (Refer FAQ Tanzeem-e-Islami). However, he left Jama'at-e-Islami in 1957 and founded an offshoot Organization named as 'Tanzeem-e-Islami.

He was born in Hissar (currently Haryana, India). His  followers  consider him as a scholar who worked towards revival of Quran centered philosophy of Islam.  However, real Ahle Sunnah wal Jama'a condemn him for his outrageous beliefs based on the teachings of Abul Ala Moududi.

His biography on his official website does not mention the name  of his father or any detail about his early Islamic Education or his teachers / Scholars under whom he studied Islam, except that he was born to a Government servant.

He graduated from King Edward Medical College, Lahore in 1954.  In 1965, he received masters degree in Islamic studies from Karachi University. He became influenced by the teachings of Abul Ala Maududi during his students years and worked as Islamist activist for  "Jamiat-e-Talaba" and then for Jama'a't-e-Islami.  In 1957 he left Jama'at-e-Islami.  In 1971, he stopped his medical practice and started dedicating full time towards his religious activities.  In 1972 he established 'Markazi Anjuman Khuddam-ul-Quran, Lahore.  In 1975, he established 'Tanzeem-e-Islami.  In 1991 he established  "Tahreek-e-Khilafat", Pakistan.  In 2002, he left Tanzeem-e-Islami on health grounds and since then Hafiz Aakif Saeed is the Ameer of the Tanzeem.  He has written many books in Urdu, some of which have been translated into English.

Dr. Ahmad remained a highly controversial figure throughout his life.  He was banned from appearing on QTV - Pakistan, and Vision TV - Canada for his controversial statements.  He continued to appear on Peace TV - India;  the TV channel which propagates Salafi, Deobandi and Jama'at-e-Islami beliefs.  Dr. Ahmad is famous for disrespect of Sahaba and Ahle Bait.  He also supported Yazid's actions against Imam Hussain (RU) and used to say Raziallahu ta'ala unhu with Yazid's name. He had a high regard for Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Qayyim, Abdul Wahhab and other Salafi scholars and openly supported their ill conceived Islamic ideology.

Dr. Israr Ahmad spearheaded the thinking of Hamiduddin Farahi, Amin Ahsan Islahi, Abul Aala Maududi, etc., who are well known for their hardcore Salafi / Deobandi beliefs.

The ideology of Tanzeem-e-Islami founded by Dr. Israr Ahmad is similar to Hizb-ut-Tahrir, a radical Islamist Organization which was founded in East Jerusalem in 1953, by Taqi al-din al-Nabhani, an Islamist activist who had split from Muslim Brotherhood (a radical Salafi outfit) of Egypt.  After the death of an-Nabhani, in 1977, a Palestinian resident of Hebron named Abd al-Qadim Zalum became its Head and continued till his death in 2003.  Since 2003,  Hizb-ut-Tahrir is headed by Ata Abu al-Rishta, a Jordanian national of Palestinian origin.
